A chapter to really get my teeth into, this one. Lots of relationship development in here, which I very much enjoyed reading. I suspect that some of the things that happened here will have repercussions quite a way down the line, but the fun is in guessing which ones. That kiss with Fiachra? Brief as it was, it was still an eye-opener, and I wonder what (if anything) Niamh will get to know about that. If Connor "stinks at being a solider", and has already been wounded, then you have to fear for his safety somewhat. But it was Deirdre who struck me as the central character in this part. Not just because of the way the chapter ended, but beforehand as well. She clearly doesn't believe Ciara's "just a friend" line about Fiachra, and who can blame her now? I could go on... this was a great chapter, it really was, and one I may end up referring back to later on.
