I went to Furality Luma Festival in vrchat and spent most of the mini-con in the event space on the highest cliff, sitting in the water watching performances beside my partner. I finally picked up the [irl] oil paint again, but this time I tried cold wax technique with some Dorlands I'd acquired recently. It costs spoons to mix up the wax and oil paint, but it's like working with buttercream frosting, really tactile! I really want to loosen up and say more with less/I'm prone to overworking, so this was all done with a palette knife. My intention was to paint the figures of our avatars in there (based on vrc photo refs I snapped) but I chickened out bc I like this painting where it is.
Then I realized that I have to learn how to photograph this stuff, a whole new skillset. >>
