I cornered this little guy when a pile of books fell in his path of escape. He couldn't have been more than thirteen years old. Looking back on it I'm surprised that sewing needle didn't end up through my hand doing this. Anyway, after putting piles of books around him to keep him from running I left the room and came back with a piece of meat from my soup. After giving me a good look over he snatched it and ran, most likely back to his family, but before he entered a large hole in the wall he paused and looked back. I could tell he knew I wouldn't chase after him. He vanished into the darkness of the hole. They're warming up to me, at least I hope they are

Hmmm, that explains all the little things that have gone missing and that feeling, when you am working late at night, of being watched from the dark corners and little pockets of shadow.
Maybe your gift will encourage -- whatever they are -- to risk showing themselves to you in the future, if only for a few seconds.
Best of luck to you and your little visitors.
