Edwin Sketch-a-Week: W11

This is a treasure because it is a traditional sketch! There is something magical about looking at the texture of the paper and how the pen ink interacts with the paper (view the image at higher resolution).
The crinkled lines (long, straight lines which have a sudden bend) adds personality to the piece. Also how the nose and mouth were represented is almost a mirror of each other is a fun point of symmetry. Lastly, I am loving the boxy iris and the subtle bags under the eyes. Maximum annoyance!
Question to anyone reading this: what are your thoughts on which finger should carry a wedding ring on a four fingered hand? That idea struck me while looking at this piece.
Detail = beyond Little. The wrinkles on the shirt and eye bags brings up the detail score. A rather clean pen sketch.
Shape & Borders = just shy of Slightly Sharp, Hard Lines. The traditional medium makes it somewhat difficult to rate this sketch, but there are a few reference pencil marks which help soften the piece. Also, somewhat of a balance between straight lines a rounded curves.
Anthro type = Anthro. Edwin has a snout and those ears are convincing.
Furry Art Style Category = Minimalistic, but almost Toony.
