It was another night in Scythe Bay, and another job. Bites the rat had a string of good fortune recently, completing a few simple jobs that allowed him to actually eat fairly decently, with a little extra loot he was going to surprise his demonic master with. With a large sack slung over his back, and having cashed in on his latest job, snatching the coin from a merchant's carriage as requested by a rival merchant, he is heading home to celebrate. It was when he turned into a side street that he immediately saw trouble.
Emerging from the shadows and walking towards him was an orange fox, much taller than Bites and dressed a lot nicer. Whereas Bites had his ratty tunic and hood, this fox had a fancy vest, ruffled cravat, puffed up shoulderpads, a wide brimmed hat with a feather, and nice leather boots. "Well well well, if it isn't old Bites. Traipsing about on his own, and with a sack of goodies too!" The fox said in an unpleasant tone, grinning down at him. "Ferdinand...what are YOU doing here? Don't you have a gutter to wallow in?" Bites retorted. "Is that any way to greet an old friend? Besides, you're on MY turf, anyway."
Bites scowled and backed up a bit. The fox stepped forward, and Bites suddenly found himself with his back to the wall. "This isn't your turf! How about you leave me alone and be on your way?" Ferdinand laughed. "Sorry, but I've extended the borders. Unfortunately, a rival needs to pay the tax..." The fox produced a fancy looking dagger and held it in Bites' face. "How about you give me half of what's in that sack, or I'll give you a really, really close shave?"
However, as the fox pushed his blade against of Bites, the ground began to shake slightly. Something was off. Then, all of a sudden, a flash of orange light went off, and a portal was summoned a few feet away. The larger circle of light spun around frantically, before Bharus, the large goat demon, stepped out of it and into the sidestreet. He wore his standard dark tunic, with a sack and pouches at his waist. He spoke out in a low tone. "Sorry for my intrusion, rodent, but you were taking longer than usual to come home, and was wondering if y-" He stopped when he peered onto the fox standing over Bites with a dagger. His eyes lowered when he put together what he had walked into. "May I ask what you're doing to my acquaintance with that blade, vulpine?" He walked forward, questioning in a more intimidating tone.
The fox was distracted by the shaking, and the subsequent opening of a portal. "EH???" He was completely caught off guard by the appearance of the huge goat that now stood looking down at him, dwarfing the fox. "Lord Bharus!" The rat squealed in joy. Ferdinand spun around and looked up at Bharus, finding his bravado. "I don't know who you are, bovine, his bodyguard or whatnot, but me and Bites here were just having a nice little chat. He was about to share his bounty with me, y'see!" The rat clutched his bald tail nervously and vigorously shook his head at Bharus.
Bharus squinted his eyes. Assessing Bites in the situation, and deciding on what he should do. He hrmfed and shook his head. "I don't think that little story of yours is going to do you justice, mortal." The demon stuck out one of his hands and eyes flashed, casting some sort of magic. In almost an instant, Ferdinand was thrown away from bites, and hit an opposing wall before falling to the ground: a seemingly quick use of telekinesis. The goat walked over to him, his height now notably towering in comparison to the smaller mammal. "If you have the audacity to harm my colleagues, then you deserve punishment! -" He said, taking a more intimidating stance, yet he was caught off guard from a sudden groan from his midsection, causing him to wince.
Ferdinand drops his dagger and freezes, helpless as he's tossed against the wall. He falls with a groan, his fancy hat falling away somewhere. The fox lies rigid on his back, staring up at the goat. "H-Hey, w-wait a sec, I-I was just kidding, honest!" Bites approached Bharus' side. "This is Ferdinand. He likes to steal from other thieves, me in particular. He pushes me around too, even gave me a scar once when I stood up for myself!" He heard the groan from the bovine's belly. "Hmm..." The rat gets an idea. "Heheh...perhaps you ought to make him your new cushion, Lord Bharus!"
Bharus stroked his chin to the idea, but he took a liking to it. "Hm, that may just work. Perhaps I should test how much gas a mortal body like yours can withstand." He said, grinning mischievously. The goat spun around and lifted up his robe, exposing his large rear and tail above the fox. He then lowered himself down to sit directly on top of him, the goat's weight pressing against him firmly, and proved for an unpleasant smell. "Ah, this is not so bad." Bharus said while flicking his fluffy tail, getting himself comfortable. He began to feel some gas move inside his system, as some more loud gurgles grew from his belly. Just then, he leaned forward, lifted his tail, and grunted hard. A loud, bassy BBBPpprrrrrvvt was released from his rump, and casted a foreign, acrid stench right into Ferdinand's face. "Ooh... The leftovers at your home never seem to agree with my system." He said to Bites while patting his own belly.
Ferdinand's eyes widened when Bharus turned around. "N-No, wait a second! Don't do it!" he yelped, and became muffled when Bharus sat on him. His eyes already watered from the stink, but that was of course only the beginning. As Bharus broke wind, the fox let out a muffled scream, thrashing helplessly under the big goat. Bites laughed. "Phew, master, that was a nice one!" he said, and patted the goat's belly. "I do think that meatloaf was a little off...amazing how a little bad food can affect a mighty demon lord, eh Ferdinand?"
Bharus chuckled a little. He could feel the fox kicking and squirming beneath him after his initial fart, yet lifted his leg up and let out a longer PPRRRRRAABBpvvvvvvvt, which reeked even heavier of rotten meat and carrion. The giant goat managed to follow it up with a succession of three or four smaller pprt's, only adding to the vileness. "Haha! Maybe I shouldn't overeat too much, yet this does feel quite relieving." Said the goat, fanning his nose. He felt another particularly large gas bubble moving towards his colon. "Hm, rodent, I feel one more. I may need a hand to help push for this one." He said with a hand on his belly.
"You do seem to always have quite the belly, master," Bites said, quickly taking out a homemade gas mask that fits over his snout; it is stuffed with fresh herbs. Ferdinand continued to suffer the point blank blasts from the bovine's tailhole, still thrashing but getting weaker. The rat bounced over when called. "At your service, Lord Bharus!" He shoved his hands forward to sink into the goat's belly.
Bharus was pleased with the rat who was enthused to help, and did a loud grunt once he felt the rat's hands push with his. This sent a gargantuan burst of flatus out from the goat's rump with a bubbly, revolting BBBBBLLLRRRRRRRRAAAFFFPT, with a surprising level of force. His tail shot upwards as the fart rumbled out directly into Ferdinand's nostrils, sending the potent stench of demon farts through his system. Bharus did a long sigh as his flatus slowly trailed off, lifting his leg to eject the last bit of gas. "Oh my. That should teach him twice not to push around others when he feels!" Bharus slowly lifted his rump off of the fox, who was now laying on the ground motionless. He fanned his tail at the hot gas as he stood up. "Hrm, perhaps my releases were too much... Is he dead?" he questioned.
Bites looked down and recoiled a bit; the fox's fur was mussed and he was foaming at the mouth. "Uh..." he crept closer. "...no, still breathing. I think he's learned his lesson." He turned to smile up at the goat. "Thank you for coming to my rescue, master! Let's hurry home...I have some gifts for you!" He hefted the sack which made tinkling sounds like metal on metal. "By the way, nice tunic...very fancy!"
Bharus chuckled. It was the first time he had ever really intentionally subdued someone with his gas, and it was even more effective than he thought. He flashed a smile back at Bites. Whether he was aware or not, his bond with the rat was getting stronger as their time together went on, and he had begun to take more of a liking to the mortal world than before. When Bharus heard the sound of the metal objects in Bites bag, he got a bit excited. He was never used to receiving gifts, so once they got home, he was intrigued. "A gift, you say? What kind of gifts would a demon such as I have use for?" He asked.
Bites chuckled. "Now that is a secret until we arrive!" he said. Once they reached the humble abode of the rat, Bites set the bag down on the floor. He loosened it and opened it to reveal a multitude of gold bands, some rings, and even a very large ruffled cravat like the fox wore, with a fancy vest of equally large size. "Voila, accessories for a demon of wealth and taste, master!"
Bharus's eyes widened, as he examined the new accessories his acquaintance had gotten for him. He was off-put from the act, but tried on one of the rings. "What? You got all this... for me?" He said while his ears perked up. "Why, I appreciate your kindness. I was in such a need to get rid of these rags I was given in the underworld!" A smile started to form on his face. When, all of a sudden, the floor and walls of the house began to shutter. A brighter red light began to manifest itself in the center of Bites' house. It was a similar shape to that of Bharus's portal, only smaller. Bharus was caught off guard, was he caught for breaking code? Were the other demons coming to take him back?
Bites smiled, and felt rather proud. "Of course, I worked hard for them, you know. That's why I have to say, I'm one of the best thieves around!" Then, of course, the portal suddenly opens up. "Gah! What..was that your doing, m'lord?" he said, pointing at the glowing thing in the middle of his house.
"No, no it was not my doing..." He said, preparing himself. If anything, he was hoping Bites wasn't gonna get caught in the middle of the trouble either. Suddenly, a low booming voice shot out through the other side of the portal. "Bharus, there you are! We almost thought you were dead with how long you've been gone, you were supposed to summon back weeks ago." The voice sounded stubborn, but Bharus rolled his eyes upon hearing its familiarity. He sighed, then replied. "Yes, Ragnux, I know... But I still have business to accomplish with my servant." The demon at the other end heard this and scoffed. "You're still with that mortal? I figured he'd have at least suffocated to death from your gassiness by now!" Some other faint laughs could be heard from the other end. Bharus lowered his brow, and he turned to whisper to Bites. "Those are the higher-ranking demons I told you I worked with... Just don't listen to anything they say." He seemed more embarrassed now.
Bites, more than a little afraid, stood by the goat's big body and clung to him. "Uh, y-yes Lord Bharus..." he said. He hoped none of them manifested here in his house...he wasn't sure it would survive more demons barging in. He noticed Bharus' expression but said nothing, choosing to watch what unfolded.
Thankfully, none of the demons decided to step through, yet kept their sights and communications functional from the portal. The voice chimed again. "Just what were you and that mortal even doing this whole time? If he hasn't left because of your stink by now, I'm not sure if he ever will!" Several more chuckles resounded until the bright spinning object turned to the pile of new accessories that Bharus received. The goat tried to sweep the things behind him so they wouldn't notice, but it was already too late. "Wait a second... What's this now? Has the rodent gotten you to play dress-up now as well?" Ragnux replied, followed by a group of heavy laughter in the back from the portal. Bharus was now blushing red. "N-no I was not! It was only..." He couldn't find the words, as the laughter continued, and his belly began to ache from the pressure once again. "I knew this was a bad idea."
Bites slowly came to realize what the deal was, and his brow furrowed as the demons started to tease the goat. "Hey, I don't know who you guys are, but perhaps you ought to show more respect to Lord Bharus! He's a powerful demon like the rest of you, right?" He stepped forward into the center of the room, hands on his hips. "Bharus isn't some stinky goat, he's a dignified, noble beast!" It would be unfortunate if Bharus' bowels acted up here.
Ragnux hrmphed. "Oh rodent, you must be mistaken. He's been at the bottom of his rank for years, given how he can't go a few minutes without stinking up our meeting rooms!" Bharus sat and turned himself away from the portal, not wanting to deal with the embarrassment he was being put through. However, his stomach was acting up at a poor time, and his tail lifted up, causing an abrupt BBRAAPFTT to eject from his system, giving the other demons a perfectly good view. Bharus' eyes widened like a deer in the headlights, as the portal now howled with laugher at the goat's flatulence. "Hey, don't do that so close, gas bag! we can almost smell it from here!" Ragnux said, continuing to chortle. Bharus put his hands on his head and grumbled to himself. "Oooh curse them... curse this stupid form!" He didn't know what to do.
Bites coughed and tried to fan the stench away, while the other demons laughed and laughed. He saw the state Bharus was in and frowned, feeling pity for the bigger demon. He lowered his gaze, but then a thought occurred to him. He ran over to the goat's front and jumped up and down to get his attention. "Lord Bharus, Lord Bharus!" He motioned for the goat to lean in close. "I have an idea to get back at those jerks. I'll open a portal under your, um, butt, and you...well, we'll give them a direct dose of your power, how about that?"
Bharus pondered pulling it off, and was skeptical at first. But given how effective it was against Bite's harasser earlier on, the goat gave him a firm nod. He then lowered himself down into a squatted squatted position, and prepared for the rat to open the portal beneath him. Ragnux was confused as to what they were doing, but interested. "Oh, you're squatting now, are we? I guess you must really be having troubles today." He teased.
Bites smirked towards Ragnux's portal, then took out some chalk and quickly drew a circle under Bharus' hovering rump, then placed some small trinkets around the edges from a bag. After some tossed salt and some hand gestures, the circle lit up and the portal activated. "Poor Lord Bharus, something really isn't agreeing with him!" he said. "Why not let it all out and make yourself feel better, my bovine master?"
Bharus grinned and gave his fluffy tail a good lift. He then lowered himself down pushed out a very deep, powerful fart with a PPPRAAAPPBBVVVVVVVVVRNT into the hole. The hot, acrid wave of gas seemed to explode out from the demon's rear, jerking his tail ever-so often to push out even more. In only a few seconds, the demons at the other end were enveloped by a cloud of dense, meaty goat flatus, and began coughing and gagging frantically. "AUGH, DAMMIT! Bharus, you filthy creature! I should never have trusted in the mortal world..." He yelled, sniffling in between phrases. Bharus continued to let out some looser, wetter farts, and replied. "See? At least you now know that I'm effective at what I do!" He chuckled, fanning the rest of his gas down the portal with his hand and tail. "Let me know how it smells when I come back!" He teased, standing back up.
Bites stood back as the big goat did his thing. The portal seemed to vacuum up Bharus' powerful farts, sparing the two of them from much of the effects. The rat started to laugh quite a bit at the result as the other demons got hit. The portal eventually closed, and likely the other portals would too, leaving the two alone once more. "Heh, we sure showed them, didn't we, master?" Bites looked up at the goat, his smile fading. "Lord Bharus, forgive my impertinence, but...you're not very popular down there, are you? Do you even have one friend in your realm?" he asked.
Bharus let out a satisfied sigh, but turned his attention over to Bites when he asked the question. Thinking for a moment, he responded. "Well, no... Not really, actually. Most of them know me as the flatulent goat, like those others." His big ears seemed to droop as he spoke.
Bites motioned for Bharus to lean close again, and then immediately gave him an affectionate few pats on his snout. "Well, I like you just the way you are, Lord Bharus! I don't care how gassy you get! I like to think I'm not just your servant...but also your new best friend!"
Bharus was caught off guard from the sudden pat from his acquaintance, but responded with a warm smile. Although the two were originally on separate levels, Bharus had found himself becoming more attached with Bites as their time together grew. "Well, I suppose we do quite the pair, huh? Thanks for uhm... backing me up with those guys back there too. I know I can't help being windy at times." He chuckled softly.
Bites smiled and climbed up Bharus' belly to stand on it, so he could give the goat a hug at chest level. "I don't mind one bit! Everybody does it, don't they? I think you and I will be able to do some great things together!"
Bharus ripped a small brrnt in response to the weight on his belly, but hugged him close anyway. "Oops, I guess you're right, haha. I'm certain we can get along like this just fine"

He stepped forward into the center of the room, hands on his hips.
