I've been wanting to work up the 'cruel world' sketch I made shortly after Yule, when the world was indeed being exceedingly cruel.

Asantrea has long been a source of great catharsis for me. But landscape and environment painting isn't something I know much about.

I'm quite happy with how the townscape in this piece turned out. That's Stillwater Cove, viewed from the woodland to its east. Overhead are Asantrea's two larger moons (of three total); Seilyr and Saliel.

Dieter has come to embody more of myself even than Bruno, lately, so it felt right to put him in this image.
