Here's what the flourite necklace looks like under black light. You can see how the material flouresces nicely, even though there is light in the room still.

<chuckles> Well, you have heard of fluorescent paint and such? The word fluorescent was coined such because of fluorite's properties (hence both having the odd fluor- spelling rather than flour- you would expect) . If you look hard enough, you can find almost any gem or stone in any form (within reason - rather hard to fine 3 foot long single chunks of crystal, it just doesn't form that big (usually... there are exceptions - usually expensive ones).
