Dusk was born and raised briefly on Luna (the moon) as its Celestial. Years later Dusk discovers their rings' power to create gates to use to traverse through space. After many years of looking upon Earth and dreaming of going there. They attempt a great taboo.
Dusk uses the ring to create a gate to Earth. Knowing that if they were to leave, they would be giving up their celestial form and the immortality it comes with. Dusk willingly chooses to go to Earth anyway in order to be among the Earth's Terrestrial beings. Mortals.
Unbeknownst to Dusk, they do not lose all of their power and foreseeing these events to surely unfold in the future, failsafe measures were put into place long in advance to ensure Dusk's safety and prosperity.
