An inkwash I did as a Christmas present for a friend. Originally an assignment for school, we were supposed to do a black and white painting conveying a mood. I thought inkwash would be a good idea for the project. I had a jar of ink and decided to use it, but it was not ink meant for inkwash, just regular old calligraphy ink, which bled when I started mixing it with water. The effect turned out pretty cool though, and I'm really pleased with how it came out.

My mother was so in love with this painting she wanted to keep it, and when I told her it was already to be given away as a present (as I had created for her specifically) she was very upset with me. She even told the friend if she didn't like it, she'd take "the little doodle" off her hands. They had a friendly argument over it, but in the end it's now hanging on the friend's wall.

I'm going to miss this piece.
