sketch of an idea for a medieval knight/soldier. Tried to think about attaching the armor from a practical standpoint. I gave him a kind of black under armor to wear because I imagine fur in contact with metal armor would probably be very uncomfortable. He's also not super decked out in huge armor because I felt mobility is important (maybe they are fighting on really rocky or even snowy terrain). The halberd/ji is for more of a defensive/range weapon. In this case, I would like it to be used to pull a mounted enemy to the ground or used in groups as a defensive wall of spears.

This is very late and looking at your later work you've probably moved on from this style of work but I believe I shall shamelessly give CC on it anyways. Just because I am shameless like that ^^
now since you said in the artistic comment field you tried to make it feel Medeival I can say you did a good job in portraying the general feeling of the era, a bit closer to the renaissance though if you were to ask me rather then the high middle ages. It's general feeling is closer to Gothic then Dante Allegeri though if I put it that way ^^ ( a VERY rough estimation approx mid 14th to 15th C) They started to dismantle the fully enclosing armour at that time since well it didn't help much against gunpowder.
Good work on the interlocking shoulder guards. it appears to me much like they made them back in those days. The Gauntlets are slightly too big however they bulge out of the general arm. They used to be very slim and tight fitting and such. Howvever excellent work on the cuirass and shin guards. It is very hard to get that curve into art I've noticed the times I've tried to make them myself.
I do believe though the characters head and feet are too big for it to be anatomically perfected, I donno if you count heads or not or if it's just your general style or not but as far as I've been taught an averagely tall human is 7.5 heads high. But yeah you probably already knew that already I figured ^^ in the same spirit of things the halberd blade is a bit oversized but not by much mind you those things could get VERY big at times. Like this thing it's like a friggin' meat cleaver on a stick

Also extra score for knowing what a Halberd was originally designed to do instead of just being an oversized spear like a lot of people seem to think it was. ^^
Besides those general flaws however I do like your simplistic but effective lighting effects on a greyscaled picture like this. Hope you found this helpful in any way, I do say I suspect you don't since this picture is rather old and such but eh....like I said in the beginning of this wall of text, I am shameless ^^
have a good day to you now! ^^
