I don't know how she ended up like this. Maybe I think she took a shortcut in the Field of hope and dreams woods, to get to her location where her friend (Girlfriend) Susie is, but something went wrong. and she fell into a mud pit, maybe Susie realizes that she is not coming and that she goes to look for her friend (:
