I haven't really drawn anything in years, but I'm still making stuff, mostly sewing and weaving and embroidery. I thought I might share some of that; I miss interacting with this community.
This is card weaving. The pattern is made by twisting the yarn mounted on cards. Whatever set of strings is on top is the one that will be visible in the pattern.
This one is a very simple pattern, but I'm trying to work my way up to more complex stuff, including animal shapes.

The pattern reverses because I reversed the direction I was spinning the cards. If you don't do that every so often, the strings twist together and you can't turn the cards any more. Then, you have to either untie the end of it and comb out the twists, or twist the pattern in the opposite direction for a while. I figured this made a prettier pattern with the reverse.
As for what it's for? My sister is getting married, and they wanted to die a habd-tying ceremony, so I'm making the bands. ❤️
