And here we have a small demonstration of Roger's Ability, "Howdy Neighbor"
Roger's power (as previously mentioned elsewhere, but not in the comic itself, quite as well as it should(yet)) gives Roger the ability to instantly know people's names. He honestly can't help it as it's an automatic ability. He knows which names are more personal than others and which ones are newer as opposed to older. If you keep those rules in mind, then the first panel genuinely makes sense if you'd just put a little thought into it. It's the perfect Nature for him to have, both personality wise as well as useful in the future.
Honestly, I wish I drew much more detail than this. I did plan to, but somehow it didn't feel right. Mind you, even if I wasn't going to give my characters powers, the result of this scene would remain the same. Roger is the kind of guy who can instantly connect with others, where as Alex is someone who'd much prefer to to get from point A to point B whenever possible. That's probably why the image feels better without all of the other characters (other than the receptionist Betty) being directly seen. It really helps to emphasize the difference between Roger and Alex.
To put in a commonly used idiom. Alex is "alone in a crowded room", meanwhile Roger IS a crowd alone.
Seriously though....What baby!?!

Aside from that, My profile outright says my favorite food is "Cajan Trolls, (and Italian style food)" for the last 10 years.
