He Needs Milk: You Need Plants (Contest Entry)
Edit: This was a winning entry, woohoo!
My entry for the PCRM Cafeteria Art Competition, advocating for soy milk in all schools. Bristol Board, Gouache, and Watercolor Pencils. Approx. 6 hours total.
🐮
🥛 Legally, a plant-based milk alternative is ONLY available if a student has a doctor’s note proving they are unable to digest lactose. The government denies school districts reimbursement for the costs of the entire breakfast and lunch offerings otherwise, often resulting in a carton of milk being placed on a student’s tray even if they’ve refused it. 65% of the global population can’t digest lactose, resulting in symptoms like nausea, bloating, and diarrhea - did you know milk is the number one source of saturated fat in children’s diets? It's time to change this and readily offer soy milk, which has been recognized under the American Dietary Guidelines, in schools!
🐄💔 Every carton of dairy milk is packed with cruelty to cows, who cry out for their stolen calves for days on dairy farms. Check out "Dairy is Scary", it's only 5 minutes long.
My commissions are always OPEN with prices under my profile tab, notes are open for free quotes. By the way, my mailed coms include extra goodies from my business partners (related to animals!) Don't forget to check out my Patreon as well for EXCLUSIVE monthly perks, along with the YCHs and other adoptables available for sale in my gallery! Every shiny donation gets a sketch as well, we really could use the help (this is my only income)
Favorites, watches, and comments below are welcomed - thanks so much for viewing my work! Be sure to stay tuned for future projects~! ^.=.^

There's no reason to continue supporting the exploitation of cows in the dairy industry, with plenty of tasty plant milks now like: Soy, Almond, Oat, Coconut, Rice & Cashew milk! These milks don't get gross or bad, they're healthier, and no refrigeration is needed before opening. Also, check this out: earthlinged.org/ebook; it basically goes over the 30 most common myths about Veganism. Video format here: earthlinged.org/30excuses 🌱
Im still in school myself, I do agree that it would be great if they started having plant based milks. The milk is just straight up bad, a concerning majority of times people around me find the milk to be expired or weird tasting which I feel like isn't safe, but im not really sure if any change is going to happen anytime soon because the food itself is ok at best and has pretty much only been getting worse.
Thanks so much for the support, friend. Don't give up hope, change starts with us - the fact that you're aware of this means you can educate and influence others to make kinder and healthier choices, which is awesome! Feel free to send me a note if you'd ever like to chat, I'd love to help any way I can. And please feel free to sign the petition I linked above! ^.=.^
