Celebrating Headspace's smallest centaur, Smol, with this fan art inspired by one of my favorite games I played in 2022: Omori!
I played a lot of excellent video games in 2022—Metroid Dread, Control, NieR Replicant, to name a few—each engaging, memorable, and impactful in their own rights; definite 10's across the board as far as I'm concerned. But do you know what separates the perfect games from the flawless ones? That's right, folks: centaurs. Among the games I played in 2022 was Omori and, aside from the game's gripping, tragic narrative, its refreshingly well-balanced combat, and its undeniably beautiful aesthetic, what really turned the whole experience up to 11 was one tiny l'il guy, a small baby boy, really just a puny little creature by the name of Smol, the world's smallest centaur (and you know he's telling the truth because of all his awards)! ...OK, in actuality, the role Smol plays in Omori is as diminutive as his stature, but it really was a treat for someone with nonstop centaur brainrot like myself to stumble upon him in the middle of a game that otherwise emotionally tore me to shreds. You know, I think there's a lesson in that: centaurs are good for your health!
