Fishbone wardrobe 2023
It's been a big fucking year for me, so why NOT spend two months on a clothing ref. Makes total sense.
And here we are. Freaking FINALLY. I always wanted to do a clothing ref for my anthro self, but was never previously happy with my sona's body type because it was a lie. I'm a chonk who was representing myself with scrawny breeds that matched my personality more than my body, and it was a bigger deal than I tried to convince myself. I was being complemented on my drawings, which felt great, but it didn't do anything for my self esteem on my actual body image. I felt like I was lying to my audience.
Since changing my sona and more accurately representing my actual body type, it's been a 180 change on my self esteem. Getting complements feel completely genuine because I'm being genuine now, and I finally felt the push to do a clothing ref.
I have a small obsession with my graphic Ts, probably because I was denied the majority of the ones I actually WANTED to wear growing up, but was told 'no' by my religious parents. Being an adult means I wear my favorite horror movies and shows with obnoxious pride. Funnily enough, my parents are becoming a lot more chill these days, and have even gifted one or two horror shirts within the past few years! My actual hats (some of which are actually on the ref) are mostly for when I need a haircut, which also impacts my self image as a transguy, and I was able to translate that beautifully with the antlers my sona is blessed with (which also double as a representation of the ego I get from naturally being able to grow a bigger beard than some of my guy friends). Like when I need a haircut, I imagine Fish gets self conscious without his gender confirming antlers.
I could go on and on about everything on here, but I've put enough text on the ref alone as is. (If you read all this AND the ref you honestly deserve a prize.)
