This is the same Cooper's Hawk as in the previous picture, now hiding its fresh pigeon lunch from any other birds that might be flying overhead. It went to the trouble of catching it, so nobody else is going to get it!

Not as close as you might think- this involved 3x optical zoom (the maximum that camera was capable of) and, I believe, an additional 5x digital zoom- which does nothing more than lower the resolution of the picture by crop instead of by scale. No video; the camera I had was theoretically capable of it at 320 x 240 @ 15FPS, but with how bad the battery was by then, I think it would do it for all of four minutes. (The photos taken of this particular hawk, without flash, used up my entire battery over 20 minutes.)
