"The local monastery began to notice a thinning in its novice ranks. Many of them came back from the local town entirely exhausted or heavily injured. The most extensive problem is when one of them came back critically injured. Rake wounds up and down his back and... a crushed pelvis.

It's not abnormal for the younger brothers to partake of physical pleasures with the local women with their tantric talents. It is abnormal when one of them begins an almost serial killer sort of obsession with bedding them and burning out their auras while in coitus.

Hence Moye, Ferres, and Ahma were sent to deal with the problem and bring the perpetrator to justice. The only description they got from the semi-conscious brothers was that she was big... but no one said anything about her being a super aggressive tigress.
