Wasn't there a cutscene of Spyro carrying Cinder and flying away, saying that he couldn't leave her and that she wasn't evil, just used? or is that a different game? They've rewritten the canon of Spyro like 3x already...

Yah that's the first game. The cutscene happened again at the beginning of the second with some extra voiceover.
