And as the research station flew further and further on its mission to conquer space, food and tourists could no longer reach it and this station became a self-sustaining unit. And at the same time, the tightening of laws and distrust between people led to exile of many even for mild crimes.
That "exile" doesn't really work because we are in space... so that's why there are two cities now, each trying to survive.
Cove here is caught by the patrol and found himself in a situation of no escape so he placed explosives and now he holds a strong argument in letting him go - a remote that'll explode the window, making a breach and potentially killing everyone in this sector.
Would the "police" risk his bluff or they'll step back and try to deescalate?
