I've been running a Dungeons and Dragons 5e campaign for like... man, a long-ass time now. We started in 2018, if memory serves, and after all this time, I figure it's high-time I actually draw my friends' characters.
Miri, the youngest daughter an influential military family, took to adventuring to seek answers after her-would be mentor mysteriously disappeared. She now has found herself sucked into the midst of an inter-planar calamity that strains her sense of morality as she learns the universe is not as black and white as she was raised to believe.
I had a lot of fun with designing the armor for Miri. Because she hails from a Navy family, I wanted to give it a maritime vibe. We play in a sci fi/fantasy setting, so I took inspiration from Bioshock, Outer Worlds, & Destiny 2 for a more modernized, kind of art-deco take on plate mail.
I wanted to take this as an opportunity to test the waters for a new kind of reference sheet I want to offer specifically for RPG characters. The idea here is that there is a separate drawing of the character just in like, underwear or something, and the armor and accessories are all separate layers drawn over that base sketch. As a game goes on, a client who commissions one of these can come back for a follow up commission at a reduced rate to get new equipment and upgrades drawn over their original sketch.
