I can't believe I actually got this thing in! I only started it just this morning haha. ha. Wut? 12 hours of non-stop work is the price one must pay for their procrastination... but I was determined to make the deadline at all costs!
*cracks knuckles* Alrighty then. SO I'd like to give myself a giant pat on the back for one of my very first fully rendered background! I pulled it completely out of my own head with some photo references for sunset colors and the Sunyshore area. Also managed to get a bit of shading this time too. The coloring isn't completely done, but the deadline calls for it to be submitted before 10pm tonight and thus I have to stop for now. Not that I mind, I got further on this than I was thinking I would.
...
The UBF has moved to Sunyshore: the city of light. Much nicer setting that Snowpoint and they all welcome the change. It's faceoff at the beach between Riley and Lee!
The bright sun of Sunyshore sets the perfect stage for Kaida the Charizard to unleash a blazing Solarbeam at her opponient: Lee's Zangoose, Moose. Unfortunely Lee kinda happened to be standing in the way. With a quick "OH SHIT-!" and loosing his cigarette in the process, Lee was able to flinch just in time. Moose just barely dodges the blast himself. He may be a little heavy, but he can really move quick as he gets ready to counter-attack.
Man these battles are danergous... and they let 10 year olds do this stuff!? Yeeeeah.
...
Lee sent out his strongest partner: Xebraxis the Gabite. Unforuntely this may not end all that well for him. You see, they don't get along. Like at all. In fact they dispise each other. Xebraxis is also freakin huge, double the size of a standard Gabite which makes him extremely powerful, but dangerous. Hence why Lee has taken care to step back a little there.
Riley sensing she'd need power to take this beast down sent out her biggest Pokemon: Davin the Fertaligatr. He's quite the opposite of Xebraxis however... so this should make for an interesting match.

wow! seriously! i'm truly blown by your sense of perspective! the angle f the camera in the image for the perspective is truly perfect in my opinion and the way you managed to shift the lighting for the background from mid afternoon to dusk is quite well attained! what also got me is the beautiful coloring on both skies and the way you represented the water on the ocean. the charizard on top looks freaking epic! the zangoose hehehe stands no chance! the Gabite looks really menacing and his pose <3333 but that Feraligatr is just wonderful both trainers look very good and heh i have to laugh at the pokemaniac one with the umbreon ears and tail!!
however.... i can only pin point 2 errors. the charizards shadow on the ground is a wee bit to small given the position he is in and the angle you gave combined with lighting angle and size of the character to distance of camera the shadow could be 20 maybe 34% larger and a little bit darker. the other one is that the charizards shadow is to crisp. to hard in other words way to solid. they are battling on a beach and shadows don't come up really solid on beaches. plus when using only the sun as your light source all shadows from a distance are usually fuzzy now if he was right up on the ground his shadow would be much less blurry but when dealing with distance to ground shadows the shadow is always a little more blurry then it would be if he was on the ground.
I hope what i said helps yah out man cause this piece is just lovely! keep up the good work you have my watch from now on!
