There are many people in the fandom who are still in school or are between their careers, and the prospect of affording airplane travel to a far-off convention is a daunting prospect. I hope this tip is helpful; It certainly was for me! I got it from here: http://www.farecompare.com/articles.....avel-insiders/
In my own experience, I've found that fares sometimes- But not always- go down even further on Wednesday. They always go back up again on Thursday.
This also works on non-furry convention (unconventional) travel.

Being my former job meant i flew a damn lot, I knew these tricks and used them often to my advantage. Im on a vacation starting next week, and flying to the other coast for a while, and got tix just last saturday, for 400 dollars round trip not including taxes and fee shit... SO yeah, I had to dig a lot because hes absolutely right in the fact the closer it gets to the date you need to go, the more expensive it gets, but you can still poke and leverage your way and find good deals...
400 Seattle to Virginia round trip - not bad with buying a week before my flight time i wanted. Plus the points and miles I got from the years I did this means upgrades and perks - 8-)
