So I just set up my recording equipment in the new house in the room I though had the best acoustics and instead of mic'ing myself or the guitar I mic'd the room.
What I mean is , I placed the mic behind me pointed at the wall and sung and played at toward the other wall so I would get only the reflecting sound waves. It makes for kind of a nice natural reverb:) Sorry about the traffic noise, I haven't figured how I am going to sound proof the windows yet.

I am still not sure if I like it or not. It's kind of a harsh echo :/ I may end up just saying fuck it and putting up my eggshell again. It does have an interesting sound if you add a bit of artificial reverb though. It's just one of those things. i can have a clean room or a natural echo, I cant have both.
Yeah, the street noise is pretty loud here and I am thinking more and more that I don't actually like the natural echo of the room :/
I have lot's of work to do to get the new studio workable and with classes being pretty tough these next few quarters that may be pretty difficult. If you like the feel of this recording you should check out the beach boys "party" album. It's just them playing in a house party from the sounds of it :D

I do stuff like this a lot, only I'll direct mic with a big condenser, and then mic the room with a pencil condenser, and mix the direct signal as low as I can without it disappearing, the direct signal just filling it in, and not being obvious. It's a great sound. Nice playing on this one, by the way!
Getting a nice, thick rug, curtains, or tapestry to hang over the window can help the acoustics a great deal. Failing that, put a rolling clothes rack full of coats, shirts, etc. in front of the window and it will do wonders.
Kobi uses our closet to do his recordings (a walk-in, one of the few luxuries this place came with), and that room probably has the best acoustics with racks of clothes facing the two outward corners of the apartment.
