Finished my drawing of one of the most wholesome families I've seen in any show - why are all the Bluey characters so precious?❤️
I have been watching Bluey a lot recently after being recommended it by some of my friends, and I can happily say that I LOVE this series. :3 Many people have been calling it a much BETTER alternative to shows like Peppa Pig and Caillou, and I can wholeheartedly agree - it honestly reminds me a lot of the shows I grew up with, and is one of the shows that makes me feel nostalgic even though it only premiered recently.
The parents in the show aren't portrayed as perfect beings or complete and utter incompetents like a lot of children's shows (like Caillou and Peppa Pig again) - Bandit and Chilli are both very believable as a couple and both get realistically exhausted as a result of caring for two young children (and I say THANK YOU to showing it not being one sided on the dad's part like a lot of media does, and for not making Bandit a complete clueless idiotic manchild and Chilli a nagging, righteous all knowing saviour like what is sadly very common with parents in media - both parents are very good parental figures that aren't afraid to call out or educate their children when they make mistakes, but they're not perfect beings either and I love how the show portrays the parents growing along with their children :D ), the children are very believable in how they're written and how they can be overbearing and overly energetic at times but still remain very likeable and aren't stupidly stuck up and actually possess manners (again, unlike Caillou or the Peppa Pig characters a lot of the time D8 - in fact, Bluey and Bingo may be some of the best written child characters I've ever seen :D ), the show isn't afraid to work in elements that appeal as much to the parents watching as much as it has stuff to appeal to the children (as well as some parental bonuses and relatable parenting scenarios, it works in subject matter like death, premature babies and even infertility with maturity for children), and the series as a whole is just extremely wholesome. X3
I am one of the many childless adults that has become a fan of the show, and if you haven't seen it already, I highly recommend checking it out. :)
