“Finally, after saving enough money, I’ve finally got the new VR Deluxe.” said Sully.

The 28-year old was not as well fit as he want, being overweight and barely surviving with his job in a fast food chain. Even though his appearance is less pleasant, you’d be surprised how clean his room is. His room is very organized and neatly looking and he did his clothes every few days, it’s just that he lost motivation of working out and wished he had started early in his life.

Making sure he had some room around him, he put on the VR headset and went into the famous game that’s been the talk of town. The game is called “VR Showdown” a game that has cross platform long across all systems and a lot of people played it a lot.

The game itself is similar to battle royal type games, except instead of being the last one alive, the winner will be announced once they have accumulated enough points. However, it’s not quite as easy as there are enemies there that can steal away points and can be defeated to add those points to your own. These enemies ranged from friendly, which can assist and help you during the match, or extremely hostile and dangerous. Some range from being as tall as the mountains to the size of a small rat.

Going through the title option, there’s the start menu, options, support in case something goes wrong, and quit. He selected the start menu and he was soon loading up to the game. Sully looked around in awe and excitement as well as confusion.

‘Weird, they said you can customize your own character into the game and use it. I don’t see any other options that lets me create a custom character. Maybe I have to unlock it by playing the game first?’

Sully thought to himself before the area started to load in, the graphics make it all so real. Everything from the clear reflection of the pond, the details of the leaves of the trees, the smell of nature, heck he can even feel his feet touching the dirt as if he was inside the game. His body glowed brightly, but not too brightly which he can still see what’s happening.

Every fat and chub he had were burning away from his body and instead being replaced with muscles. His face toned down into a square chin, his glasses disappeared from his face as his eyesight cleared up. The large gut that he was upset for so long melted away until he had a toned belly with some strong abs replacing it. His legs and arms gaining strong muscles which he can’t help but flex his arm and admire his new look.

“Guess they just give me a random character to use before I can make my custom character. Not that as don’t mind this one, this is something that I would pick.” Sully said to himself. Although now he’s starting to feel like the temperature is rising up, wiping away sweat from his forehead. Taking a closer look at his new arm, patches of blue fur growing on them.

“Oh, I guess we’re not done yet.”

Blue fur grew all over his right arm, spreading across towards his body while more changes happened to his body. When the fur reached his hands, he can feel two of his fingers fused together while his nails extended and become razor sharp, giving him four fingered claws and some pads underneath his fingers and hand. Flexing around a little, he felt the sharpness of his new claw and the softness of his new paw pads. The same thing happened to his other arm before he can feel more fur growing underneath his clothes.

Since his shirt was now oversized, he lifted the collar and looked down at what’s happening to his torso. The fur started to become a lighter shade of blue in the middle, covering every inch of skin and the cold breeze felt more easing to him. As soon as the fur reached his legs, he suddenly lost his balance and fell down on his rump, rubbing it from the fall and something growing out from above his butt. Looking behind, a blue bushy tail popped out with a lighter shade on the underside, wagging around like it had a mind of its own. Sully instinctively grabbed it to stop it from wagging, he immediately let go from the sensation and instead focus on his feet.

His toes merged together and rounded out to three toes with the same sharp claws on the tips of them, more paw pads growing underneath. Speaking of toes, he saw his legs being contorted into digitigrade stance like a wolf, meaning he’ll be standing on the tip of his toes until the end of the game. Slowly, he picked himself back up, shaking from the new stance, and took a few steps to get used to it. He was eventually able to get used to his new posture as the lighter blue fur went down across his inner thighs.

Only his head remained as the fur spread up to his face, more lighter shade of blue going over his face before changing back to the blue fur color. His cheeks had tufts near the end, his mouth and nose being uncomfortable as they were pulled out and fuse together into a snout. Near the tip is a big blue nose, he can smell things more clearly and other smells he didn’t notice before as his teeth become sharper. Then everything went silent as he lost his ears, Sully started to panic when he reach only to feel nothing but fur and no ears. Thankfully it wasn’t long before his hearing came back with more noises, reaching up felt his ear twitch as they now moved to the top of his head. Lastly more blue fur grew around his whole head, he closed his eyes from a stinging sensation before opening them, his eye color changed to an amber color.

While he was finished with his new wolf form, his clothes started to morph and changed along with it. Both his shirt and shorts merged together into a skin tight suit and turning into a black color with gold outlines around the suit. The suit stopped halfway through his digitigrade feet and the chest area had a v cut which showed off tufts of light blue fur. What confused Sully though was the suit had some holes on his arms, elbows, thighs, and the back of his legs, not knowing the purpose of them.

“Weird, but this isn’t too bad. It’s more aerodynamic than my shirt and shorts, plus it’s not that constricting. Still, wonder when the game would start? I haven’t seen any other players or enemies yet, maybe I came in early and the lobby is still searching for players?”

Sully wouldn’t pondered long before he felt his whole body feeling compressed down against each other. “There’s still more!?”

He noticed that everything was started to look a bit bigger, then he realized he was actually becoming shorter, though not by too much. The blue fur on his head extended out and stopped when it reached his back, going into a darker blue color. Both of his arms and legs would slim down a little while his hips caved in and his back arched forward, giving him an hourglass figure, yet still retain some muscle in there. After some time has passed, he felt his hardened pecs becoming soft and push out while downstairs he felt what he would be identify as was shrinking.

“No! Anything but that!” Sully reached and tried to preserve what’s left of his masculinity, but it was fruitless as soon his crotch was nothing but feminine flatness and his, now her, reproductive organs modify to bear children.

Soon looking to her feet would be a struggle as her pecs became a pair of large breasts, blocking her lower view to the ground. She felt her left ear being pierced by three little something while her right eye burned a bit and was blocked by something, an eyepatch perhaps? She reached up to feel what it was but was soon distracted by the dangling of chains and the fact she’s been handcuffed.

“What the!?” She screamed, in a low feminine voice before helping by something shocking her behind.

“Get moving! We’ve got a long way to go.” Said a feline soldier from behind her before being dragged by another feline soldier in front of her.

‘This is getting too realistic and out of control for a VR experience. Maybe it’s some sort of bug? I’ll come back once they patch this.’

Sully put her hands on her face and pull the headset off. Or at least tried, however all she felt was fur and her own hands instead of something covering her head. “Where’s my VR headset?!”

The feline soldier from behind shocked her butt again, causing her to yelp. “I said move it! If it weren’t for us, your filthy canine kind would be nothing without-“

Both feline soldiers screamed as they were shot from nowhere. Looking around, Sully saw a character cloaked in oversized clothes and a futuristic rifle, still smoking from being fired. He walked up towards Sully and just stared at her.

“Um..thanks. Do you have any idea what happened to me?” She asked. All she got in response was the rifle man firing at her and she quickly dodged. “What are you doing!?”

“Nothing personal, my lady. Just playing the game as I usually do.” The rifle man replied before firing off more shots. Sully dodged and weave before running deeper into the forest, leaving the rifle man to eat dust. The rifle man cease his fire and kicked some dirt before heading to his own direction.

She wasn’t sure if the rifle man was following her and she didn’t want to take the chance and kept running.

‘Gotta keep going! Gotta keep going! Is he still following me?’ Sully turned to look if the rifle man was still chasing her, not paying attention to what’s in front of her. When she did crash into someone, instead of knocking them over with her, she instead was bounced back by something feeling soft and fuzzy.

“Hey! Who’s there!?” Said a woman’s voice with a bit of a sultry tone. Looking up, she can see huge bubble butt that puts her own to shame with a black thong with a tail hole that barely contains their size. Hi tech armor on the legs, arms, torso, and some headpiece were on this creatures body all over as it turned around. Although at front the creature is clearly female due to her giant pair of breasts that were covered by her armor, her face was a visor that covered her entire face yet showed her angered expression through some led lights. She flexed her arms, which causes energy blades to come out through her wrists as she looked at her intruder.

Sully raised her hands in defense and intimidated by the slightly chubby, yet dangerous anthro. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to run into you like that! I just wanted to exit this VR game everyone talks about. Though transforming into this female wolf form isn’t what I had in mind.” She said, looking away and slightly blushing.

“Oh! Are you new to the game? I can give you some tips and guidelines then, as long as you don’ backstab me.” The anthro retracted her energy blades as her visor dematerialized, showing her cream, biological face as she put her giant paws out. Sully grabbed onto her paws and she was nearly sent flying due to the creature’s strength.

“Thanks for that and for not killing me on the spot.”

“No problem. I’m Max, by the way. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I wasn’t always look like this mamagen.” Max said, they both started to walk forward together.

“Were you also transformed through the VR Deluxe?”

“As a matter of fact, yes. How did you know?”

“I also have the VR Deluxe and I wanted to try this game out, but not only did I ended up as this female wolf I don’t know about, I can’t seem to remove the headset at all. It’s like there’s nothing on my face when I tried to remove it. Oh and my name’s Sully, by the way.” replied Sully, maneuvering through branches and leaves.

“Nice to meet you, Sully. Though I wish we didn’t have to meet up like this. If what you said is true, then maybe we have to play through the game until someone wins this game. I’ve been playing this game for a while now from my PC, so I wanted to try what VR would look like and I gotta say, this is pretty cool despite our predicament.”

“Yeah, minus being turned into female.” They continued chatting their way as the forest soon cleared up. However, they were soon ambushed by a giant knight armor and a wizard nearby.

“Hahahahaha! Looks like another easy points for us! Come on buddy, let’s see what these two can do!” Boasted the giant knight armor in a deep voice, the wizard however remained silent before firing spells towards them.

Both of them nearly dodged out of the way before Max brought her energy swords out and dashed forwards, going faster than what she appeared to be capable to do. This caught both side of guard as she was able to block the big axe and avoid spells easily. She was even able to do some damage to the knight before knocking her back.

“Huff..This one’s a lot faster than I expected. Hey! It’s time to send in the boom booms!” The wizard nodded and a red magic circle appeared under it before a swarm of small fires with eyes and mouth came out and flew towards Max. Max slashed and tried to escape the swarm of fires, but each one were fast and narrowly avoiding dodging her blades while damaging her with some fire burst.

“Max!” Sully ran over and tried to help however she could, but she didn’t get far before the knight intercepted her way.

“Oh no you don’t! You’re as good as mine!” The knight swung and destroyed whatever gets in his path as Sully dodged and jumped over some, all the while the wizard kept Max busy to where she couldn’t help. This kept going until Sully was getting tired due to her constant running and dodging, eventually getting hit by one of the knight’s attacks. Although slow and sluggish, he hits hard as Sully was knocked back into the trees and fell to the ground in pain.

“Sully!” Max tried to swat away the fire swarm, but was bombarded by their flames and the wizards other spells.

The knight stomped with one leg onto Sully’s body, knocking the remaining air out from his lungs.

“I admit, little mutt. You two are much more than what you seem. However the victor go to the spoils. Victory shall be mine!”

The knight his axe up as energy charge around it as the environment turned dark. Sully struggled to escape, but she was pinned down hard and couldn’t move while Max was bombarded and was on her knees. The knight was about to take one last swing and Sully braced herself before thunder struck the knight at the last second.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!” yelled the giant knight before he fell backwards, charred to a crisp before another figure dropped from the lightning strike. What appears to be a purple mountain goat with pink hair came down from the sky.

“What’s it gonna be? You or me?” The mountain goat said in a feminine voice. The wizard look at her and Max before changing its target towards her and the flames following behind. It fired off a lightning spell, which the mountain goat summoned a storm cloud in front and absorbed it.

“Tch. Another one who just works with the hard enemies. Poco! Teach it a lesson!”

The sound of a guitar played as coming from the bushes is a yellow skeleton in a mariachi outfit with his guitar in hand. “You know my main role is to support players, not really being upfront and be aggressive, Absa.” said Poco.

“Just use the power up we found on the way here, it’ll be more useful for you than me.” Absa demanded.

“If you say so.” Poco brought out an arrow with a bomb in it and uses on himself. He then strum along his guitar and music notes with eyes and mouth flew out, happily singing as they flew. They crash through the flames, shattering like they’re glass, before surrounding the wizard and closed in on it, causing an explosion where the wizard was located. The smoke cloud dissipated, the wizard defeated, both the enemies disappeared into bits and data.

Absa turned her head back and forth to Sully and Max, observing and gauging their levels. “How new are you two to the game?” She asked.

“I just got this game, so I’m a noob to how this game works.” Sully said, raising her paw up.

“I’ve been playing for a good while now on my PC, though for VR, this is completely different.” Max replied.

Absa sighed and pinched her head with her hand. “Better than nothing like last time. Poco, these two will need your help more than me. This is where we go our separate paths, you two better not disappoint me the next time we meet.” Absa ran ahead without even saying goodbye.

“Not even a goodbye, it was nice to hang out with you.” Poco said sarcastically. He went over and check how far apart Sully and Max were before going behind Sully. Strumming his guitar, green notes come out this time and healed whatever damage they had taken back to normal.

“Thanks, not sure what dying felt like in this game and I’d rather not know what it feels like if we do die.” Max said standing back up.

“It’s not too bad for any of you players, you’ll barely noticed you’ve been killed and respawn somewhere else. We wanted the VR version to be as realistic as possible, but not TOO realistic to feel pain, this is still a game after all.” Poco explained.

“Okay, that’s one problem down, but now here’s another problem we have. You mean we’re stuck like this until someone wins? How many points do we need and how can we even tell how many points we’ve got?” Asked Sully.

“Just check your status screen. Swipe or tap in front of you like an interface and you should see your stats and points.” Max and Sully did so and a status screen showed up in front of them displaying their health, skills and powers, and points. Poco had an equal three hundred with a couple more points added, Max had about over a hundred and Sully barely reached the double digits.

“How did I even get points? I only ran and dodge my way here.” Sully questioned as she stared at her small points.

“There are multiple ways to get points besides fighting, running away from a tough battle is also a strategy, therefore you can still gain points even if you are a pacifist.” Max explained.

“That’s right! I’ll explain more of the mechanics in this game, but let’s walk and not be out of the open in case we get another ambush.” All three of them went off the path and walked nearby the middle of the arena.

“As you know, the goal is to reach a certain amount of points to win the game. If you’re concern about betraying your friend, don’t worry, you can team up to three people in a group and you can also share your points in the group with each other. We originally had four to five people in a group, but during the beta testing, we saw that they exploit this by having the rest do the hard work while one will just go afk for the whole round. They would continuously give their points to the afk person and win that way, so we restricted to just three per group.”

“Based on the ai enemies in this game, the harder the opponent is, the more points you’ll get when you defeat it and that also includes their forms.” Poco said, pointing at the top of his head with 330 on top. “That’s my points right now that you can take if you defeat me right now, but not all of us are here to attack. I’m one of the kind that helps players like you two while Absa and those two opponents earlier are the attacking kind. Absa didn’t mind you two since you have low amount of points right now, but if you have bigger points the next time we meet her, she won’t hesitate to fight you.”

“Really? I had a feeling she wasn’t one to easily cooperate with others, but I thought she was our ally since she helped us?” Asked Sully. “And how do you explain us looking like this?” He said, pointing to her body and Maxs’.

“First, she only protected you cause you were facing tougher opponent with higher points. Second, our creators wanted to make the VR version more interesting this way, so that our options would be unique each match and come up with different play styles. As for the character, well that’s all just RNG, so long as the character had a model no matter if they have a game or not, you can become said character. You’re also not restricted to just per person, other people can also pick the same character if they want to.”

The sounds of screaming, explosions, and many different sounds boomed near the distance. The three of them peeked through the bushes and seeing what would be called a war zone. A menagerie of various characters blasting, slashing, stabbing, and anything that could give them a win strew all over the place. Giants as size of the mountains racking up points from killing those unfortunate enough in their path, a blast of Hyper Beam disintegrated a couple of players above as a Rayquaza flew by the air. From behind the group, Pit fell from the ground with his wings burned a bit by Cynder, who flew past him to take care of other contenders.

“Oh man. This battlefield is getting intense. Not gonna lie, being able to finally fly on my own is great and all, but without Lady Palutena around to warp me back, I’m just walking into a big death trap.” Pit said to himself. A light drop nearby and spawn in food, which Pit ran into it and flew back into the air.

Meanwhile a whole bunch of Fox McClouds were just yelling at each other while using their reflectors in the air and moving around in place. This kept going on before they all got blasted away from a random beam probably meant for someone else. Poco just put his hand on his hip and stomped his foot.

“I get how each game has their own meta, but I still don’t get why people who play as Fox think they also play with Melee physics. Weird how they insist this will work every time they get killed, I admire their dedication and persistence.”

“Looks like they don’t plan on holding back at all, it’s almost like it’s the end of the world. Guess we better step up our game then if we want to win this, huh Sully? Max turned to Sully.

“I don’t even know how this character even works, nor do I know if she has a hidden ability I don’t know of.”

“You don’t really need special powers to win your way, there are multiple ways to win aside from fights. If you feel overwhelmed, don’t hesitate to ask me for help.”

“Don’t forget about me! I may not have many combat capabilities like you two, but I can at least keep you two alive as long as I can.” Poco said tuning his guitar.

Sully nodded and with a confident look she said, “Alright, let’s win this game.”
