When I was doing research on how to explain pregnancy and birth to a young child, it was recommended to use simpler words that they likely had a better grasp on. So while 'push' is more accurate, since kids are taught to not push eachother and the word is associated with roughhousing or meanness, this could cause confusion. Hence 'move' was recommended instead.
