Sandy's almost as tough as my sister. One of my friends asked her out on a date. At the theater, some jerk kept kicking the back of their seats. My friend asked him politely to stop. When the jerk persisted, my sister stood up, turned around and decked him.

She was the youngest of four, growing up with three much larger and older brothers. Later she worked as a nurse at the VA hospital. An elderly friend of mine complained that she didn't let him get away with anything. She's still a no-nonsense character; a couple of school administrators have backed down from her!
