Oh, is this an invitation? I love discussing symbolism.
For one, I see the spikes as pushing others away—sorrow, self-harm, and hate tend to be states of withdrawal, whereas violence and rage are confrontational. Self-harm is the spikiest to the point of, well, hurting oneself.
Blood in violence and self-harm seems obvious.
Hate’s tendrils… I find it hard to put into words; it just feels right. To me, hate often feels like poison that seeps into everything.
One thing that catches my attention—but I am not able to interpret—is the visible teeth in violence and hate, but not in rage. Perhaps rage is the most like the original, less corrupted, because anger can be a constructive emotion (standing up for oneself)? It is, after all, the reaction to boundaries being crossed.
Sorrow could also be considered a healthy state, but here it seems overgrown to the point of depression and isolation. Face is lost in shadows. No mouth; silent and withdrawn.
Of course there’s the thought to decode the writing, but I’m resisting the urge in order to respect your privacy. I’m not sure if you intended for it to be decoded.

oh rage has teeth in the way of having a mouth, something that sorrow and self-harm lack, it's just nowehere near strong enough to actually have no lips.
and while it wasn't an invitation, and I don't mind you decoding them, it felt good reading that, seeing that someone understands.
