The idea is a (very large) spring that need to be squeezed (By Skur, as seen above), then released with the kick to start the warpstone engine.
A fully compressed spring can start the engine multiple times, but need to be squeezed again every now and then. Only Skur can do that.
So... clockwork i guess?
