Riding Fire In The Sky
Tomorrow the VERY VERY VERY VERY long anticipated sequel to Kerbal Space Program releases into Early Access after nearly 12 Years since the release of the original game. In those 12 years the game has gone from a bare bones looking poorly optimized buggy and glitchy explosion simulator to the top program for everyday people to simulate rocket and orbital mechanics, and with endless mods and patches that have made the game look beyond words amazing and to replace the Kerbin System with our own the game has basically evolved into it own sequel over the years. But now we say goodbye to our old friend, it will still be available to play but KSP2 will slowly bring in many changes that have been wanted for years, from interstellar travel, to proper base building, and even multiplayer, meaning that the original may only be played for the modded players, and eventually KSP2 will see the level of mods and the first game.
Here are some of the rockets I've made in game based off of real world designs,
Echidna, a Small Sat Launcher based off the Electron
Gorgon, a Medium Launch Vehicle, based on Falcon 9
Medusa (Shown in its 3 by 3 configuration), a Heavy Launch Vehicle Family Based on Falcon Heavy
and
Naga, a Super Heavy Fully Reusable 2 Stage Launcher based off of Starship, Neutron, and New Glenn.
So Private Division and Squad, Thank You So Much, for all the Years of Fun, Wonder, Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly's, The Monster that is The Kraken, All the Failed Landings on Laythe and Eve, The Kerbals stuck in Interplanetary Space from lack of DeltaV, The Rovers Long forgotten on The Mun and Duna, The Burned Up Craft in Jool's Atmosphere, the never visited Eeloo, The Kerbonauts that we have fallen in Love with like Jeb, Bill, Bob, and Valentina, and most importantly, all of the Rockets, Space Planes, SSTOs, Interplanetary Vessels, and Craft Built from the sketchiest parts found in a junk yard and stitched together by the most qualified lowest bidders at The Kerbal Space Center.
So Here's to You KSP, and All Your Fire We Rode Into The Sky
Prometheus, they say,
Brought God’s fire down to Man,
And We’ve Caught it, Tamed, it, Trained it
Since Our History Began
Now we’re going back to Heaven,
Just to look Him in the Eye
And there’s a Thunder ‘Cross the Land,
And a Fire in The Sky
