These gouache postcards are part of a large series where I will be aiming to paint 100 landscapes. These were painted in 2020.
Postcard 1 Lavender Grove - Painted some little wildflowers in gouache as a warm up.
Postcard 3 Backyard - This little gouache painting was the view from my backyard window during a warm morning in Summer.
Postcard 5 Fallen - A fallen rotted tree trunk in the foreground made this scene very appealing to me.
Postcard 6 Tide - I tried to capture how clear and blue the ocean was crashing against the rocks in this postcard.

I can't possibly comment on everything, but these have been absolutely stunning so far. River of Mist (18), I've seen a similar scene when I was at a mountaintop cabin in the Rocky Mountains. It had just rained, and the air was so clear. But it was warm, and all the moisture started evaporating and flowing into the valley below, collecting in an enormous wavering pool of mist. Some balance tipped though and the mist eventually rose in a column and began making its way back to us, and then it rained down on us for a second time! Thank you for reminding me of that, you've made my day that much brighter. I hope yours can be just as bright.

Thank you so much for this comment, I am glad my work stirred those memories for you. It is a large goal of mine to bring joy with my art! I had such a simillar experience in Binna Burra, the thick fog was distant so we could still see out despite the rain and moisture in the air. It felt like the top of the world, it was truely a beautiful experience I hope to paint more from.
