"Be wary of surfing on private beaches, there might be consequences depending on who owns it"

An old piece I did for Mermay last year, but never posted it on any of my sites or current socials. The idea came from a discussion some friends and I had, talking about "The Island of Dr.Moreau" and TFs that might come from it. Which also caused me to brainstorm some ideas for a world I've been building.

"Liam and his buddies thought they had found the perfect surfing spot. No crowds, open beach, clear waters, and amazing looking waves. But they all failed to see the "Private Beach: NO ENTRY" sign covered by foliage. This beach was owned by an exiled scientist and geneticist. He would soon capture the group for causing a ruckus on his beach, he needed new subjects to test on anyways. Over several weeks, the mad scientist would slowly splice the surfers' DNA with various aquatic genes. Liam himself was spliced with DNA from a female leopard seal.

Fortunately, the Global Realms Taskforce (name pending, still world building it) had been tracking the geneticist's trail. With the help of Tali's Coast Guard Squad, they managed to find his hideout and stormed it. Capturing the scientist and freeing the dozens of captives and getting them the help they needed. Though most of their DNA was too fused to safely reverse. Which lead to a lot of rehabilitation for the captives to adjust to their new bodies. Tali herself working with them on learning how to swim with their new bodies."
