I will admit, the entire point of this image was mostly to draw something like the middle image, of just showing just how light a pokemon Ninetales technically is. At 43.9 pounds they are most definitely not light, but definitely nowhere close to as heavy as you'd expect. They weigh about as much as a large border collie, but are like twice as big. And then we have Komala, which also weighs exactly 43.9 pounds, but is only about 1'4" tall. Technically Thievul also weighs exactly 43.9 pounds, but he's actually slightly larger than Ninetales (3'11" vs 3'7") and I wanted to draw a Ninetales and show a vast disparity in size.
As for the image itself I kind of like how it turned out. It was kind of awkward about arm placement in the second panel, because I drew each separately and then realized I needed to adjust the one so that it looks like they are being held by the other and only did an okay job at it. Overall drawing time is probably on the order of around 20-25 hours, at least 3 of those are just shading tails. Because there are a lot of tails to be shaded in this drawing.

There was an interesting video on the Save A Fox youtube channel where a male cat and a female fox were being weighed at the vets. The cat was weighed first and came to about 10 pounds, then the fox, who was about half as large again was weighed and came to almost exactly the same weight, she was wearing a safety collar which accounted for the extra. It was rather surprising, foxes in general have a light build!
Also this drawing looks really good, it's not quite clear how s/he's holding her in the second panel but that's a minor thing.

Yeah, foxes have kind of evolved an almost birdlike trait in that their bones are far less dense than usual so that they can launch themselves into the air so much better. Like I think I saw a thing that said that fox bones are about 20% less dense than a coyote's.
And yeah, difficult to see. I have one hand holding the bottom around the butt and you can barely see the fingers sticking out. Probably should have swapped the arms, so that the close arm is hooked under instead.
