Carina Grosso was born in Torino, Italy 5 minutes before her twin brother Carino and, like her brother is named after the Italian adjective for "cute". Carina has the ability to induce confusion, disorientation and, with prolonged exposure, dissociation. The light blue electrical substance shown above represents the invisible trajectory throught which her powers permeate. Anyone who Carina is able to link to this theoretical line falls under the effects of her abilities. The level to which the individual is affected by Carina's powers depends on the level of exposure they have to it. Minimal exposure may result in slight confusion whereas maximal exposure may induce long periods of delirium, not dissimilar to the effects of dementia and alzheimers.
When she was 7 years old, and her powers first started to manifest, Carina's uncle Aureliano was subjected to 10 continuous days of delirium; he was in an almost constant state of heightened anxiety, his mental faculties seemed to fall away, and he could not form cohesive thoughts. Eventually, Carina figured out that it was her who was causing her uncle to be in this state. This is to date the longest period that anyone has ever remained delirious due to the effects of Carina's abilities.
Carina suffers from panic disorder (a condition characterised by regular feelings of stress and anxiety, which manifest for no apparent reason) which is believed to be the root of her abilities.
She can speak Italian and broken English. She goes by the pseudonym Deliria which comes from the Italian word for delirium. Her attribute is called 'Stordimento' in her native Italian or 'Bewilderment' in English which is defined as a state or feeling of being perplexed or confused. Befitting of an ability that induces discombobulation. Personality-wise, Carina is quite sassy and snarky, she is also very clever and quick-witted.
Fun fact! Kobolds such as Carina and her brother Carino are the only crea species that does not have fur, instead they have a smooth but tough layer of scale-like skin covering their bodies. They also do not have tails.
