Being a limited liability corporation means you're not liable (responsible) for much of anything. Check out "The Corporation" book and documentary. It asks the question "If a corporation is legally a person, what kind of person is it?". And the unsurprising answer is: a psychopath.

Companies don't *have* to be psycopaths, but we (or rather, those who make or buy the laws) have designed our economy so that psycopathy is the only path to success. Sure, sure, you can treat your workers like people and make customer satisfaction your #1 goal, but you'll steamrolled by the people who don't.
