never actually had a fursona before. my very first oc was a self insert winged unicorn girl, but she was very very humanoid, more like a satyr/faun but with winged unicorn features.
she doesn't suit me anymore. that's okay.
I decided to go with a peryton, which is another winged ungulate like my original self insert oc lol. I picked the peryton because I have a neat forest druid costume i wear at ren faire and other costume events. it's very simple, just a dark green dress from my closet and as many necklaces as i can fit at once, plus a mossy green skull shawl i crocheted! plus an antler headband i bought at my first ren faire. I like the antlers. they make me feel fancy. So I figured my fursona should also have antlers, and I really love wings. wings are just neat. antlers + wings = peryton. I think she looks lovely. I'm quite proud of this portrait.
I combined two animals that are native to my area: the white tailed deer and the californian scrub jay. I've always liked scrub jays, they're very common in my area. they match my eyes haha.
