Along my way playing through my current dnd campaign I came across a little snow owl and kinda loved the bird, he's adorable, though a tad blunt. He often talks with Raven when they're alone or under the night sky, although no one else can easily understand him but I dunno I just recently cast Polymorph on him so I could do something elde and kinda liked the idea of him being Raven's opposite, the Yin to his Yang.
Astra is a very strange owl, found outside his natural biome he often has something to say, however little it may be, although never is he judgemental, crass or rude in any way. He comes across as a somewhat oblivious creature, as is the nature of an animal that hasn't been anything shy of an animal all their life. He often sits under Raven's cloak upon his tail to travel so as to not be as easily noticed, he also likes to snuggle while the two sleep or play host to Raven's desire for a watchful eye. Many times he'll sleep through most of the day whilst Raven travels and keep one eye open even while his companion sleeps soundly. He has been given the nickname, "Star" by Raven and although curious as to what lays beneath the mask has never even thought to reach for it himself. Astra's own personal mask was made to harmonize somewhat with Raven's although unlike Raven, Astra will freely remove it should someone feel uneasy in it's presence.
