Tip for people learning how to rollerblade/skate: Bring a hockey stick with you when you go out blading/skating. I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out. Normally, if you lose your balance, you're going to fall. If you've got a hockey stick though, you can lean forward, and get the blade of the stick on the ground, allowing you to catch yourself, so you don't fall. It was a great confidence booster for me when I was learning, and it saved me from more than a few falls.
