Yaz'kria I Quentizi arcane fast battleship
Hello ^^
Here is yet another of my traditional pices i got around to finally upload with two short stories to it's existence! ^^
One of my older pieces once again for my Glitter Story D&D. Quentizi fast battleship Yaz'kria.
Both stories are from past, as now this vessel and it's crew is forced to work udner evil Empress of Storms.
Calm weather, warm and sunny day at the Quentizi Spiral Citadel. Place of where invention and magic meet. Creation of new and interesting things was more than usual here, aside random explosions or raging arcane elements in the workshops. This day was special. As the Mage lord Akkadion, right hand to Quentizi Queen Imairath stood in front of a new achievement, Yaz'kria. First ever arcane battleship, made by the finest of the artificers and enchanted by the most patient of mages. Ready to be unleashed upon the enemies of the Quetz Crown under the enlightened rule of Empress of the Sky Sial'dia. Ship ordered by her to protect from great dangers beyond the veil of their home, that were slipping in more and more.
"I'alkiel dorei, myseil'li seoi'n atem, akaidoe are le orej." Lord gave highest of blessings to the crew and ship itself, a protection spell, calling of the winds. That gave ship just slightly more speed. Empress and Queen arrived together. Quetz in Quentizi form was considered an offense two generations ago, before Empress hot her throne. Wars and dark ages were over, now only golden era was ahead, aside the looming danger on the distant horizons. With royals Head Artificers Arissra and Gaskalir arrived, accompanied by number of scholars of Quetz, Quentizi, Dragons and others alike.
Several moments have passed and many pleasantries were exchanged before Ikkia Princess of the Storm, Ji'aek Prince of the Wind and Urbala Princess of the Water arrived. Children of the Empress and future of Quetzes. Mage lord looked around, looking for the Queen's hatchlings. He found them just a head tilt away with Admiral Gan and his Son. He will be the one to command this vessel. An important, but also lengthy ritual will be made to Blood and Soul bound him to that vessel to give it maximum capability. When he will die, his responsibility will be passed on to one of his children, if no living young is found, a new worthy bloodline will be chosen. After the death of the ship 's captain, his spirit and mind will be part of the vessel to accompany it on its journey, and help all on board with their tasks and lives. Anyone can become part of the vessel if Ancestral way of travel to the afterlife is impossible.
Two hours later, after the ceremony and speeches, it was time. Grand mages and Mage lord descended upon the great plateau in front of the ship plowshare and prepared for ritual. The Admiral was ready, and his family too. Bound by oath to this vessel. Giving it every single fiber of himself and making sure this ship will reach the sunbeams of a new day. Queen, Mage lord and high mages started. It wasn't pleasant, but it was a start. Making a ship to be able to open its blessed incorporeal holds and do it on its own. Power surged through the vessel and Admiral alike, burning feathers and connecting him to vast hulking bulk. When it was done, silence and arcane mist enveloped all in the sky dock. All waiting to see if the spell was successful.
Admiral stood up in pain, charted by powers channeled through him. He was now one with the ship holds and magical systems, he could gently tap into them. His physical body disallowed him from doing anything big and still rendered use of the main bridge necessary.
But he was now first Admiral, very first guardian of a future soul onboard.
He also noticed something else here. Wery core of this ship was well made, but it was first successfully made. He sensed part of the Akkadion inside. But of his soul and mind. They both now cod see into each other as clear as day. He noticed that their councilor was dying. He spend last of his long days in greatest service of the crown, I stead of looking how to use his remaining power to prolong his life he chose to help his race secure their future. Admiral was motivated even more by this, as he sees that even his leaders truly believed in their species as whole.
After the launching ceremony and celebrations. Ship sailed for a parade with its crew and Admiral, and Mage Lord went into his tower. Vessels sailing through the sky, cutting the winds and giving hope. Akkadion settled his staff and enchanted rings on top of the decorated shelf and then went to sit down behind his table to write his last letter.
"To my dear children,
Friends and Queen.
It came to me, as it will go to any other. Maili's song was in my ears for a while now. Getting clearer and smoother. I know my end will come soon, but I welcome it.
I achieved many things in life, seeing entire kingdoms rise and fall. Today we achieved something that will change our future forever. Keep us safe from anyone or anything that would try to usurp our destiny.
Don't be sad my dear, as I will still be with you. Part of me still will be on board the Yaz'kria that was named after the old name of our Goddess of the wind that gives us a path. Even if my afterlife is hindered as bits of me are missing I still did this knowing the cost. I believe in us and in peace we can achieve.
Reason why you know of my fate from this letter is that I didn't want to break great moments and cloud your mind. Trust me that I died happy and my last breath carried in the dusk winds will be filled with joy and happiness.
Your dear father and friend,
Akkadion."
Sky was dark, rainy with dense, heavy clouds filled with battle and death. Shoots of arcane lances, arcane cannons and magic missile launchers were lightning the sky alongside spells of Quetzes. Yaz'kria was in middle of a great battle. Enemy was in the clouds and ground. Commanding the wery elements around them as they fought. Opening fire at dark figures lightened up by lightning and shoots in this storm.
Ship had special mission. Being fastest of all other, they were ordered to reach main elemental rift and destroy it. Completing this mission would help push back raging elements and get them closer to ending this war. Their journey was dangerous, surrounded by elementals that were actively attacking the ship and wearing down it's shield and charge of weapons. Constant onsloughts of wind and water and water elementals on wind elementals trying to bring down this vessel. They were close. Central rift was in eye of the storm. But it was protected by rift keeper. Soon as they got into calmness of eye, defender turned his attention to them. Great mixture of all four elements.
It opened it's assault on incoming vessel with it's superior range and in only two attacks broke it's shield. Next strike cracked left side of the hull and another bended ship's lance. Situation was dire and weapons were seemingly ineffective against this foe. Crew prepared to go into full speed and ram the portal, making highest sacrifice.
Suddenly, an ally emerged from the clouds! An Empress of sky and her daughter, Princess of the Storm, last remaining heir of Quetz throne. Two serpents stroke true the elemental and allowed ship to open fire at the portal.
Guardian fought two Quetzes mercilessly before catching Empress and throwing her into the dark storm beyond the eye. Princes tried to strike once again but got pushed away too. Elemental rotated towards the vessel to destroy it as it was completing it's mission. Before the blow, Empress emerged from the clouds and made elemental to miss vessel and destroy the rift. Explosion of raw power pushed the ship away and spinner it mercilessly towards shallows in the clouds. Elemental was breaking down, Empress gravely wounded and her daughter closing in. Ship lost visual but load roar of pain could be heard echoing throu the very sky of the lands. War was over, but at what cost. It was told that dying elemental stroke last blow into the hearth of the Empress and ended her rule. With fleets scattered and Quentizi race shaken the most by this conflict future was unknown.
Yaz'kria was later saved and hastily repaired. Hard blows it suffered are now embedded Into this glorious vessel which already fought countless battles and will fight more if time will require it. Permanent cracks on hull and one shield unit gone, bended lance and tattered plowshare only showed glory and resilience. This vessel had respect of any that knew what this battle teaterred coat ment, and how many lives it saved.
