In getting back to the feminine boy Ben Au, I wanted to return to drawing an image of just Ben himself and establish the AU a little more.

It was a year after the events of the original series. Though Grandpa Max didn’t take them on another summer long road trip, Ben and Gwen would still spend the weekends doing things like camping and dealing with various threats. It was around this time that Malware attacked, and the resulting confrontation and tampering with the Omnitrix led to the device glitching out and recalibrating. This led to Ben transforming into what should have been a female alien form, but still remained male.

Even when he managed to transform back, Ben still found his body dealing with the strange changes caused by the alien device. His very appearance became more feminine, including his hair. Various things seemed to feel rather off as well, but he couldn’t quite place it. A brief, opportune visit from Azmuth shined a little more light onto the matter. The Omnitrix, due to it glitching out the way it did, inadvertently jumbled up the chemical and hormonal balance within Ben’s body, leading to his very endocrine system shifting every so slightly. Unfortunately for Ben, Azmuth had no real solution at the time, as he was more amazed by the unexpected result. To Azmuth, the Omnitrix appeared fine after the glitching, and Ben was fine too, so that’s all that mattered.

Ben’s own parents would end up learning about Ben’s predicament, as well as the Omnitrix. Needless to say, all of this would definitely come as a shock for them. Carl himself would be extra annoyed at Max for dragging Ben into ‘plumber-like nonsense’
