Born and raised in the Boston district of Old York, Alexander Isaac Barton, who goes by his street name "Alex Bandicoot", became an orphan at an early age after his parents, his father a journalist and his mother an aide for a Sectorist politician, were both killed in a suspicious explosion that leveled their apartment. When he wasn't at the orphanage, he was on the streets hanging around with the various Old York gangs. His unusual nimbleness and budding psionics made him particularly attractive to many of them as a thief, who paid him in cash or trinkets for small-time gigs that, more often than not, landed him in trouble with Old York law enforcement than than with any trouble between the gangs.
Yet, with age came experience and practice, and eventually he even had a mentor that trained him in certain areas of the Tilon, Irid, Barden, and Jastis to further enhance his abilities. He’s a very strong example of how even lower-level psions can be quite effective against more powerful individuals with the right techniques. Even psions beyond level 5 were having a hard time locating and exacting his crimes, and the fact that he could break into pretty much anything earned him the nickname "the Skeleton Thief" within the US's New England region. Which was exactly why, at age sixteen, a mysterious entity offered him an eight-figure sum to do the unthinkable: break into and steal information from the Iridium Allied headquarters in Thunder Bluff. However, what he didn’t count on was for the Cannason twins themselves to be present for a meeting, and while he was able to slip past Varna, Rodaph’s attention to detail was what did him in. He was imprisoned, but not for long: Rodaph ultimately decided to not only decline pressing charges, but offered him a position within his estate.
Another off my list of older OCs in dire need of a reference is Alex Bandicoot, my super-thief boy! He'd be the kind of guy who could pick you clean in five seconds with at least three cameras watching and completely get away with it - but, if you were on his good side, he'd at least give back what he stole. As for the bad guys? If there was one thing he'd have in common with them, it'd be overconfidence, which can sometimes work in his favor. Sometimes. He ain't perfect... but don't expect to catch him if he does mess up. Expect "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure" levels of shenanigans with him around.
Yet, he isn't all chaotic. As a matter of fact, he does have standards. Such as, no weapons during his thieving. It's not that he doesn't believe in using them, just that he'd rather not be seen as an assassin, though he is capable of some amount of martial arts. And, thanks to his employment with a proper baron, he always uses his best manners and knows how to treat a lady right. Useful skills torob them blindgive them a night they won't forget.
Oh, right, there's one more thing: no, he is not related to Crash Bandicoot. Or Sly Cooper, but I do understand why some'd see the semblance :3c
