For a time I was stuck trying to decide on if I want Riis' eyes to be normal or stay glowing red like they seemingly always had. Especially for any new Riis' I might make. I set these screens up for a side by side comparison using my latest version of my Riisrabbit model (more to come later) to show a few peeps and ask which they think looks better.
I'm thinking I'm gonna stick with red eyes. They still stick out in just the way I like, even though the model screens here might not reflect that.

I'm familiar with it. It doesn't like sharp simple shapes and it bogs down editing a lot because it needs that processing power to constantly generate the vertices that weren't originally there. And I edit A LOT.

It's not a good look unless mesh has plenty to work with like body mesh, minus claws and other sharp simple parts.
On occasion I do use it in some of the screens, rarely on the head part if at all.

Ooof, that would definitely be an issue.
You could possible consider something like edge sharps, but that's something I'd have to look into myself since I'm not exactly familiar with its effectiveness. Def would prevent the lumpiness.
In fact lemme actually look into that <w>
EDIT: Lmao yea literally add sharps https://youtu.be/qZ93e9TZ-JM
Also if you turn off the Viewport button thingy, the monitor, you can still have the modifier rendered without bogging your system down, ye.

I know hiding it will do that. I work on building models with higher vertices count than rely on subdivision to do much of that for me. Plus I don't have to put up with whenever it adds too many in small areas or spots that would use less polygons. Still learnin' though.... Anyways Thanks for telling me about that sharpness feature. I'd never find something like that by asking around even the Blender reddit.

Though it took me a moment to find the actual controls for the feature since I can't access them the same way in 2.79c like the guy did in his 2.8+ version.
You know what would be really REALLY great? You know how whenever there's a split, you can see exactly where it is on the mesh? And I don't mean as in it's two separate objects. I mean a split, like a cut that can open up into a hole or exists to be peeled away in an animation. Do you know how to hide such splits? Preferably without using the Data Transfer modifier.
