Badge for FC 2011. Unfortunately, I realized the layer that fixed the absurdly long neck was turned off only AFTER I printed and laminated the badge. D'oh!

There's a few problems for me so far. I'm 18 and don't have the money, don't have a license or car (I don't like to drive), I still live with my parents and can't explain it to them, also I think I'm too young to travel and use hotels myself. I don't know any furries in real life that could go with me, so I'll be lonely. Meeting furry friends there would be difficult with my shyness.
However I guess I can be considered lucky that I live in California, and only a 2 hour drive from FC. I live so close to it, yet will never reach it anytime soon.
But thanks, I do hope to get to enjoy it, I just need all the above first.

I was in a similar situation back then, too. Once you can drive (make the effort - it's worth the freedom!), it might be worth just looking around to see if there's any furry meet around your place. It's kind of scary if you're the shy type (I know it was for me), but it's a great thing getting to meet other furs and it's a little easier being around others over time. I had to wait till after moving out from my parents before even considering a con, but it was well worth the wait.
I've actually never ever met another furry in real life, I'm not sure any live near me. As for driving, I'm just nervous and afraid of it. I don't like driving at all, especially long drives that last over 15 min. So though I live 2 hours from FC, it's sounds like a lot to drive for me. However driving is only one of the few problems keeping me from a con.
I live north of FC (San Jose), I live in Roseville which is a little North-east of Sacramento. I'm happy to live this close to it though, since I know furries who travel across world to get to FC.
I do hope to go next year, but getting all that I need in one year would be hard (job, money, car, license, time off, friends to go with, and confidence).
