Manticores live in the eastern deepcaves; a series of caves that begin at ground level and sprawl for about nine kilometers.

The Manticore race is an odd one; they evolved from a species of scorpion that dwelled within the caverns, near large deposits of Mithril, a metal that radiates huge amounts of mana. They're omnivorous, capable of eating many things, but they are able to ingest any toxin, any poison, and be completely unharmed. They thrive best on mushrooms and fungi, of which an astonishingly huge variety exist within their caves. Their breeding is much like humans, with heat seasons roughly every half year provided the female is not already pregnant. Females do not develop breasts, as their young are born capable of ingesting soft solids, such as mushrooms.
They make brilliant assassins, their stinger's venom not just a rare commodity, but also extremely potent and virtually untraceable. The venom, however, is also extremely tasty, and is rendered inert by cooking temperatures in excess of one hundred degree centigrade. They are a heavily muscled species, their life within caves requiring vast physical strength in the event of a cave-in.
They like people, yet have shown odd behavioral patterns that is easily described as 'shifty'.
