The jungles of Gahan in western Lemuria have alternatively been described as a sweltering green hell and as the closest incarnation of Eden still accessible to the children of Adam.

Hot, humid, and eternally buzzing with life these tropical forests are filled with sounds. The abundance of ambrosial fruits and flowers is offset by the presence of leaches and mosquitos.

These jungles give and take simultaneously. All around grow safou plums, mangosteens, bayobabs, breadfruit, ackee, and tamarind trees. The forest is host to a multitude of tulip trees from the Spathodea faimly which brighten the canopy with their vibrant blooms. These flowers are frequented by geckos, honeycreepers, hummingbirds, bush babies, and specialized nectar feeding tree shrews. Monkeys, iridescent birds, and hyrax climb through the branches feeding on the bounty. They themselves, are then plucked from the trees and consumed by mongoose, pythons, and sabertooth predatory baboons.

The smaller forest dinotherium (Dinotherium Dryadeus) is a woodland browser that carves trails and bowers throughout the thick brush.

The Lemurians are as comfortable in this world as all the natural beasts of the woods. They manage the jungle as partially cultivated food forests. Encouraging useful species and removing pests to be rewarded with a perpetual bonanza of fruit and flowers from the living green cathedral they inhabit.
