Is this the last art in series after he was captured?
If it is... does it mean that he finally healed but need to begin from the scratch again?

Truly beautiful. Do you ever read "His Majesty's Dragons" aka the Temeraire Series by Naomi Novik? Best Dragon book series i've ever read..and your design and specially this "Mail Dragon" kinda reminds me of this. :)
