The witch of the woods who is supposedly named Senna is said to be something of an enigma among those who generally know or are aware of her existence to some extent. She is a being that stands as tall and imposing as the trees themselves, a creature who seems to defy the touch of time and age itself as she's said to have wandered the world for hundreds upon thousands of years, a hermit who shuns the trappings of civilization for the quietude of the wilderness and shares numerous friends among both flora and fauna alike. An incredibly powerful druid capable of bending nature itself to her will and a talented wielder of many kinds of magic, though she is also known to be a kind and generous soul who's willing to lend a helping hand to those in dire need. In return, she simply wishes to just be left alone in peace, and for her forest and its denizens to be treated with respect.
Though she abhors the use of violence and will often fight back only in self-defense when necessary, Senna's normally gentle and shy demeanor belies a vengeful and merciless rage if she's truly pushed over the edge and provoked into retaliating with force. The entirety of the forest itself and all of the creatures that dwell within will answer at her beck and call to come to her aid without a moment's hesitation, and she has a near limitless arsenal of potent and destructive magic at her disposal if any sort of great danger should present itself. It is the witch's sworn duty as the warden of the wilds to protect her lands and preserve the balance of the natural order, and she will do so however she sees fit. Senna is not one to be trifled with lightly, and if you should dare to make yourself an enemy of hers... Well, let's just say that you may find yourself soon meeting with a terrible fate, as the fury wrought by the forces of nature itself are unrelenting, unforgiving, and unprejudiced...The second of two traditional style sketch commissions that I got done of my characters, this time featuring my woodland witch-druid being Senna all decked out in an outfit much more suiting of a guardian of the forest! Complete with a cool-looking fur cape and everything, hehe~ This is also the very first art piece done of Senna that also features her animal companion Rowan, a wolf that she ended up adopting into her care after his mother was killed by a hunter. She had intended to look after him until he was old enough to be released back into the wild and survive on his own, but instead chose to take him in as her companion and familiar when the wolf had clearly grown attached to her and refused to leave. I definitely hope to be able to get more artworks done featuring these two, for sure! They're practically best friends to each other and thick as thieves, and I'd like to try and explore more of them, their relationship with each other, and of course some of the shenanigans that the witch and her wolf get up to in their day to day lives! And of course I hope to be able to explore more of this aspect of Senna too as a guardian of the forest who will do anything to protect the land she calls home, and of course to show a bit more of the extent of her powers and just how capable she is of using it! Because magic is always really cool to see, right?
That being said, though, I just really love how this one ended up coming out as well! Between this one and the previous sketch piece of Kira, the artist definitely did an absolutely awesome job with both, for sure! The posing and the serious looking expression on Senna's face combined with the look of her leather armor outfit really nails the feel of a strong, steadfast, and fearless protector! And with her wolf companion perched there on her arm, the two of them definitely look ready to explore the world together and take on anything and everything that comes their way! And of course, the traditional pen-and-pencil drawn look of this is just so super cool! I feel like this would fit pretty well into a fantasy novel that has pictures of scenes taking place within the story drawn out on certain pages throughout, or even as an illustration that you might see in a book for an RPG game or something like that! And of course all of the little details in this are beautiful, the stylistic look of all the fur, the folds of the cape and all of the segments and pieces of Senna's chestpiece and armored skirt, the added textures of all the tufts of grass, rocks, and water all around to make it feel like it's taking place out in the woods somewhere... And of course the use of the tonal values and solid black cel-type shading to create the contrasts of highlights, shadows, and mid-tones in between is so well done, and while this would surely look amazing if it was fully colored in, it's still incredible even with just the black and white! Either way, this is a pretty damn awesome sketch piece, and once again the artist really just ran with the idea for this and knocked it well and truly out of the park~ <33
This is the second of two incredibly amazing and wonderful sketch art pieces that were done courtesy of the super lovely and exceptionally talented
And hey, if you haven't already given AndyD a watch over on his page, you should totally go do that, leave some faves on any of their works that catch your eye, and consider shooting him a commission as well if you'd be interested in getting some really nice art like this done! Even for a cheaply priced sketch like this, the sheer amount of detail and the overall quality of it is definitely more than worth it! As mentioned before, AndyD may not be taking any of his usual commissions that he offers due to his current situation, he is a refugee who fled from Russia to another country and is just trying his best to get by and keep himself from having to live out on the streets in an area that he's very unfamiliar with. But if you'd like to get some awesome art from him while also helping to give him some financial support that he could really use during this difficult time he's going through, he is still offering sketch pieces like this one for super cheap prices (it's $5 for a portrait, and $12 for a fullbody) and slots are currently unlimited! All you have to do is comment under the post that you'd like to take a slot and indicate if you want a portrait or fullbody piece, and I'm sure AndyD would be very grateful for any and all attention and support he can get! And even if you don't have any money to spare or aren't particularly interested in getting art, please do consider at least helping out by sharing his works around with friends and anyone else who might like to order something! Regardless, I ask and highly encourage you all to support an amazing and lovely artist by at least giving him a follow on his page!
The link to AndyD's currently ongoing YCH sketch commissions will be provided below if you'd like to have a look! And if you're interested in getting a piece for yourself (or two, or maybe even five if you'd like with how cheap they are), please do leave a comment of what you'd like to get! He is still accepting commissions for them if you all might be interested, but do keep in mind that you may be waiting for a little while due to the sheer amount of orders that he's gotten for them thus far!

Ahhhhh thank you so very much!! And I’m quite glad to hear that you like Senna as well! They probably have the most unusual-looking design out of my characters by far, but they’re really interesting to work with! I definitely hope to be able to explore more of them and their character in the future, for sure! And I’m very glad to hear that you like this art piece too, AndyD’s traditional pen-and-pencil sketch style is just super awesome and I’m so happy at how amazing both of the pieces I got from him really turned out! Would definitely recommend checking him out if you really like the look of his style~ 😊
Of course! Please feel free to ask away, and I’ll answer as best as I can!

A very good question! And to answer, yes, there are already quite a few art pieces featuring Senna that I have uploaded here! The very first piece of hers was from about 9 months ago, and that one was of her original design refsheet that I got when I initially adopted her from another artist that I follow. Though I only really started getting more commissioned art pieces with her after I got a new redesigned version and an updated refsheet done for her about 6 months ago. But I do plan on trying to get more art pieces featuring her in the future, for sure!
Senna looks so amazing and beautiful in this lovely artwork that has been made for you, I would love to help out Senna, should she ever end up in that situation and I'm sure she would appreciate that ;3
You did an absolutely incredible job with the little story and description, they are just really amazing to read, Phoenix! <3

Hehe, thank you so much!! It’s really cool to see Senna all decked out in proper armor and such, looking like she’s getting ready to go off on an adventure with her wolf familiar by her side! And I don’t think she’d mind a helping hand from someone who’s a friend of hers at all, hehe~ 😊

She does! Rowan is Senna’s wolf familiar/animal companion, though to be fair I haven’t really had them featured together in any other art pieces yet aside from this one. I should definitely fix that… Honestly, I would love to be able to explore more of that aspect of Senna in that protector of the forest kind of role, utilizing more of her druidic abilities and such. Magic is always such a fun thing to be able to explore visually, and druids especially are interesting to play around with what they’re capable of. Like changing the weather, casting nature-based elemental spells, shapeshifting into various animals, etc. Lots of potential for some really cool ideas there, I feel.
