Matt is a canis 18 year old from the great lakes region of the United States. He's a cheerful and goofy golden retriever, who enjoys doing stuff with friends and playing the guitar. Though the canis virus caused a big change in his life that he's still adjusting to, he's done his best to take it in stride, even coming to like the feeling of his new self.

Matt is the protagonist of my story Dog Boy, and in the past, have said "oh yeah, he looks like my fursona lol." But over time, especially as I revised the story for its second draft, I fleshed out Matt more as well as the other characters, feeling like he needed to be more than a self insert. And so, to that end, I've given Matt his full blown new artwork. Granted, he does look a lot like me if I were an anthro dog, but Matt has brown eyes you see, not blue. :)
To say I'm happy with this artwork would be putting it lightly. I've been actually working on improving my art skills, and I feel that it shows. I used a stock photo as reference and drew it with the Nintendo Switch app Colors Live. Hopefully we'll see some more of the characters in the future!
