I didn't have any patterns, I just used some sleeves of a shirt or similar I didn't want anymore to make em.
if need be just sort of draw on the fabric you wanna use, and sort of draw otu the pieces and fold over to make sure it matches up on both sides/similar. I did the seweing by hand which I cna't do often (it upsets my carpal tunnel)

Yeah, sewing by hand is tedious work... I can't keep stitching for very long! I've done that before with fabric--I'm just not sure how to make sleeves and pants so that they work correctly. The seams always end up weird... XD

Also with small clothes like with BJDs you pretty much have to do it all by hand ^^; a good way to do sleeves is to try and make the connecting bit a little more oval.. basically take a t-shirt and see how the arms attach and such and the you basically sew the shirt inside out and just turn it right and stuff when it's all sewn in. (I cut both sleeves at the same tiem to try and keep them symmetrical when I do make shirts with sleeves)
Also there're probably some good tutorials on DoA, and I think there was a LJ community with free patterns, but I forget.

Awww, how exciting! I know getting your first doll is like having a child.. kinda. xD Maybe that sounded weird, but it's definitely a wonderful experience.
